Rebar Services for General Contractors

Border Rebar is a reinforcing steel subcontractor supporting commercial, industrial, and heavy civil projects across North Carolina and South Carolina. We provide rebar estimating and quantity takeoffs, rebar detailing and placing drawings, field installation, and post-tension installation. Our deliverables are built for clear scopes, constructability, and inspection readiness. DBE and MBE certified.

Rebar Estimating

We produce quantified takeoffs and scoped proposals that align with the drawings, specifications, and your bid schedule.

  • Outputs: marked PDF takeoffs with quantities by element and pour sequence, optional Excel breakdown of bar sizes and weights.
  • Controls: documented inclusions and exclusions, assumptions, alternates, and noted plan conflicts.
  • Coordination: pricing organized by foundations, vertical, and slabs to mirror procurement.
  • Inputs: title sheet, structural set, specifications, addenda, alternates, bid due date.

Rebar Detailing

We prepare field-ready placing drawings and bar lists focused on constructability and inspection flow. Prepared to contract documents and, where specified, informed by CRSI practice.

  • Outputs: placing sets with bar marks, bend schedules, bar lists, chairs and supports, and sequencing notes.
  • Controls: verification of cover, lap, spacing, and congestion with issues flagged for resolution.
  • Coordination: lists formatted for the fabricator and organized for inspector review; PDFs plus CSV or Excel on request.
  • Inputs: approved drawings, specifications, RFIs or addenda affecting reinforcement.

Rebar Installation

We deliver safe, organized placement for foundations, vertical elements, and slabs with clean pre-pour handoffs. Performed to the project drawings and specifications with placement requirements as specified by the contract documents.

  • Outputs: installed reinforcement for mats, footings, pile caps, grade beams, walls, cores, shafts, stairs, slab on grade, podiums, and elevated decks and beams.
  • Controls: supports and spacers set to maintain cover and alignment; laps and splices placed per documents.
  • Coordination: deliveries sequenced to pour plans, pre-pour checks with the superintendent and inspection teams.
  • Inputs: approved placing drawings and bar lists, embed schedules, pour sequence, access and delivery plan.

Post-Tension Installation

We install unbonded tendons per project documents, including layout, anchorage, and stressing coordination as specified by the contract documents and PT supplier requirements.

  • Outputs: tendon layout and edge anchorage placed to drawings and specifications with attention to penetrations and edges.
  • Controls: stressing coordination with recorded elongations when required; protection and caps handled per requirements.
  • Coordination: work sequenced with rebar, formwork, concrete, and the PT supplier for clean handoffs and scheduling.
  • Inputs: PT shop drawings, hardware schedule, stressing plan and timeline, applicable specifications.
